About Aya and Our Company
ArPoncho, a woman-owned brand founded in 2016 by Aya, creates high-quality, silky rain ponchos that are breathable, comfortable, and fun to wear. Aya personally tests hundreds of fabrics to ensure each poncho is both practical and stylish for adults, kids, and dogs.
Aya’s passion for fashion started in her family and was shaped by her studies at fashion school. She later interned in New York with a menswear brand and assisted during New York Fall Fashion Week, gaining valuable insight into the business side of fashion.
It wasn’t until a rainy morning in New York that Aya had the spark to create ArPoncho: “I thought to myself, why do we have all these plastic, uncomfortable, and bulky rain ponchos? Isn’t New York hot and sweaty enough? Why suffer even more on a rainy day? So I set out to find a silky, breathable fabric and create a rain poncho that could be worn in multiple ways, bringing comfort and style. And if I’m already making it, why not add a fun pop of color to brighten up a gloomy day?”

The best rain gear I have ever owned!!!

My daughter lives in NYC
Best.Poncho. Ever. My daughter lives in NYC- a largely pedestrian city. She keeps this in her bag and it covers whatever she is wearing or carrying(gear and all, bags too). This city lays waste to umbrellas, no to mention it is difficult to navigate with a brolly without losing an eye;0) I was recently with her in a torrential downpour, she was totally dry and rain was seeping through my Marmot jacket, No rush for a cab either- can't get one anyway! Highly, highly recommend- they look really cool as well, another NYC plus ;0) Bought one immediately.
